Volunteers are Needed! No gardening experience required!
Woodlawn has been involved with growing vegetables for Southeast Helping Hands for the last 6 years. Grade 3 students plant and harvest the garden each year, providing a worthwhile and hands-on experience for children to learn where their food comes from and the benefits of helping the less fortunate in our community.
This summer, we are looking for families who are willing to help weed Woodlawn’s Community Garden.
This is a one-time commitment for your family who will join with other families for a Tuesday evening weeding extravaganza. We’d like to assign 3 families to each Tuesday in July and August. The length of time spent at the garden will be approximately 1 hour.
In case of inclement weather, the evening is cancelled.
If you are interested and willing to commit to our worthwhile project, please send an email to Miss Kristen Reimer at email@example.com with your name, the Tuesday(s) during the summer you are available, and your phone number. The deadline for submitting your name will be May 18.
We will contact you with your designated Tuesday towards the end of May or early June. As well,
Hank Klassen from Southeast Helping Hands will be coordinating a welcome event and BBQ sometime in late May to meet and greet the families involved and give out some important information.
Many hands make light work and we thank you in advance for your participation!
