It is I Love to Read & Write Month at Woodlawn School! We have lots of exciting events happening, including Book Fair, many guest readers, and lots of fun activities encouraging the love of reading and writing for our students.
The Grade 4 citizenship team has organized a Spirt Week which will be held Tuesday, Feb 18 – Friday, Feb 21.
Tuesday, Feb 18 – “Read my shirt” – Wear a shirt with words or a fun phrase!
Wednesday, Feb 19 – “Book Character Day” – Dress as your favourite book character!
Thursday, Feb 20 – “Book Genre Day” – Dress up representing a book genre (ie. mystery, nonfiction personality, sports, etc.)
Friday, Feb 21 – “Pyjama Day” – Cozy up in your PJs and read your favourite book!

Jingle Bell Jukebox
We would like to congratulate our Grade 3 & 4 Students who performed the “Jingle Bell Jukebox” on Thursday, December 12. You put on a phenomenal show! A special thanks to our wonderful music teacher, Miss Bilevicius and our Grade 3 & 4 classroom teachers for all of their hard work preparing the students. Merry Christmas!

Toy Drive for Community Christmas
Thank you to everyone in the Woodlawn Community who donated toys to our Steinbach Community Christmas Toy Drive! It was a HUGE success and you have made Christmas very special for so many children this year! A shout out to the Grade 4 Citizenship Team who collected toys each day, you were wonderful helpers!

Woodlawn Remembers
Today, students and staff at Woodlawn participated in a very beautiful and moving Remembrance Day Assembly to pay tribute to and remember all of those who have lost their lives fighting to protect our rights and freedoms. Students performed three beautiful songs and each class made a special poppy wreath to lay at our wreath ceremony. The poppy wreath is a meaningful symbol on Remembrance Day.
