Today, students and staff at Woodlawn participated in a very beautiful and moving Remembrance Day Assembly to pay tribute to and remember all of those who have lost their lives fighting to protect our rights and freedoms. Students performed three beautiful songs and each class made a special poppy wreath to lay at our wreath ceremony. The poppy wreath is a meaningful symbol on Remembrance Day. It captures our thoughts and memories. It places the focus firmly on the names of all who have given their lives in wars past. It represents our respect for those who continue to risk their lives for the sake of peace.
Thank you to Mrs. Kroeker and Miss Bilevicius for organizing our program, and all staff and students for their wonderful performances and beautiful wreaths they created.
Together, we remember today and on November 11, Remembrance Day.
